About Lace

I see life as an adventure; an unusual and exciting, typically hazardous, experience that leads to amazing stories. I strive to use those stories to make the world a more resilient and courageous place.

A development professional by trade, I listen and share people's stories of growth, joy, sadness, and courage to connect community members to making change.  Story telling for me has many platforms; grant writing, fundraising events, and intimate conversations are my favorite. I am a proud graduate of the Washington State University Edward R. Murrow College of Communication. GO COUGS.  My roots are planted in a small town on the Yakama Indian Reservation, while my wings brought me to the Seattle area in 2008. I have found a resting place, in the Valley of the Moon, that is close to nature and the city.

Adventures are challenging and I love that. I climb mountains, kayak oceans and rivers, ride horses, ski the deep and steep, and travel to far off lands to challenge my internal and external understandings. I plant gardens as an exercise in hope and patience. I cuddle with my two dogs to remind me of the value of unconditional love. I have a philanthropic soul in love with building communities. I have coached women's collegiate rugby, helped start the first all-female DII collegiate rugby conference in Washington, been a volunteer running buddy for an elementary student, and a volunteer walker for therapeutic riding.

I also have a deep love for good beer and good wine. Growing up surrounded by hop fields and vineyards has left it's mark. I am a part-time brewer and occasional brew maven for Ninkasi. Just another way to meet new people and share the things I love.
